8. Victorian Ancestor Portraits

8

Give your walls a chilling, historical depth by replacing your family photos with altered Victorian ancestor portraits. Source vintage black-and-white or sepia-toned portraits of stern-looking aristocrats from thrift stores, or print high-resolution public domain images online. Using basic photo editing software or physical paint, subtly alter the portraits to reveal their true vampiric nature. Add tiny, sharp white fangs peeking over lower lips, change their eye color to a piercing, reflective red or milky white, or paint a thin, elegant trickle of blood running from the corner of their mouths. Frame them in heavy, ornate, dusty black frames and hang them in a gallery wall format. To make them even more interactive, use lenticular prints that transition from a normal human face to a monstrous vampire face as guests walk past.
