13. Blow-Inflatable Vinyl Halloween Lawn Figures
Before the massive self-inflating nylon lawn giants of today, the 80s had heavy-duty vinyl blow-up decorations. Similar to pool floats, these decorations required manual inflation (or a foot pump) and were weighted at the bottom with water or sand to keep them from blowing away. Popular designs included giant, menacing black cats, towering vampires, and friendly Frankenstein monsters. They had a glossy, smooth finish and a distinct vinyl scent that defined the outdoor decorating experience of the era.
