16. Monster Under the Bed / Couch
Add a playful, surprising scare to your living room or guest bedroom that targets one of our oldest childhood fears. Purchase a pair of glowing, battery-operated monster eyes, or make your own using green glow sticks placed inside empty cardboard tubes with eye shapes cut out. Tuck these deep beneath the edge of your sofa, bed, or armchair, pointing outward.
For an extra touch, have a pair of hairy monster paws or skeletal hands peeking out from under the dust ruffle or furniture base. When the main lights are turned off, the glowing eyes will peer out from the shadows, giving the hilarious and creepy impression that something sinister is nesting right under your feet as you sit.
