Materials Needed

  • Heavy 3/8-inch by 3.5-inch structural lag screws
  • Magnetic level, tape measure, and stud finder

How to Make It

  • Locate and mark four consecutive wall studs along a long, uninterrupted garage wall.
  • Mark level horizontal lines at 12-inch vertical increments up the wall across all four studs.
  • Anchor heavy-duty steel pipe flanges or cantilever brackets directly into the center of each stud using structural lag screws.
  • Ensure all arms are level across the horizontal plane using a long straightedge or carpenter’s level.
  • Paint the metal arms with durable matte enamel.
  • Stack your raw lumber, baseboards, conduit pipes, and metal trim by length, placing the longest boards on top.

Tips and Variations
