6. Fairy Light Canopy
While not in the water, overhead lighting creates the “ceiling” of your courtyard. Draping warm-white string lights from the walls to a central post over the pool creates an intimate, enclosed feeling.
How to make it: String weatherproof fairy lights in a zigzag or “X” pattern over the pool area. Ensure they are high enough to clear heads but low enough to create a “roof.”
Ingredients needed: Commercial-grade waterproof string lights (LED), tension wire, galvanized eye hooks, carabiners, wall anchors.
