16. Contemporary Brutalist Concrete Accents
Brutalist architecture and modern interior design share a love for raw, unrefined materials, bold geometric shapes, and industrial strength. Incorporating lightweight concrete decor accents onto a media console adds cool urban sophistication and strong architectural presence.
Look for concrete decor such as heavy geometric bookends, rough-cast tray bases, or angular candle holders. The cool grey tones and porous, pitted surface of concrete offer a fantastic tactile contrast to warm wood media consoles or smooth lacquer finishes. Pair a concrete block object with a soft, organic element—like a small trailing succulent—to balance industrial ruggedness with natural life.
