15. Phantom Silhouette Windows
Make your living room look haunted from both the inside and the outside by installing phantom silhouettes in your windows. Cut large, dramatic shapes out of black poster board, such as a rearing werewolf, a cloaked grim reaper, or a witch stirring her cauldron. Secure these silhouettes directly to your window panes. Behind them, hang sheer white curtains and position a bright orange, purple, or green spotlight pointing directly at the window. From the street, your living room windows will display a terrifying, high-contrast shadow play, while indoors, the colored light creates a moody, ambient glow.
