19. Vintage Pressed Flower Coaster Set
Protect your desk while adding vintage elegance with custom resin or clay coasters embedded with delicate dried flowers and botanical leaves.
How to Make It
- Materials Needed: Round silicone coaster molds, two-part epoxy resin, dried pressed pansies or fern fronds, and gold metallic flakes.
- Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Mix your epoxy resin according to instructions and pour a clear base layer into each round silicone coaster mold.
- Place your pressed pansies and fern fronds face down in the resin, adding small pinches of gold metallic flakes around the flowers.
- Pour the top layer of clear resin over the botanicals, pop any bubbles, and let cure for 24 to 48 hours.
- Demold your coasters and wipe them clean with a microfiber cloth.
Variations & Tips
- Cork Backings: Glue a thin round cork pad to the bottom of each resin coaster to prevent slipping on wooden desks.
- Coaster Holder: Make a matching small resin holder box to store your coaster set when not in use.
- Tip: Ensure the flowers are 100% dry before encasing in resin, as fresh moisture can cause browning over time.
