11. The Handmade Bath Bomb & Fizzies Gift Tin
Delight sensory lovers with effervescent, skin-softening bath bombs crafted from natural clays and therapeutic essential oils.
What You Need:
- Baking soda, citric acid, and cornstarch
- Epsom salt and sweet almond oil
- Mica powder for natural coloring (pink or soft gold)
- Silicone sphere molds
- A round decorative metal storage tin with tissue paper
How to Make It:
- Mix the Dry Ingredients: Whisk together 2 cups of baking soda, 1 cup of citric acid, 1 cup of Epsom salt, and half a cup of cornstarch in a large stainless steel bowl.
- Add Liquids & Color: Slowly whisk in 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil, a few sprays of witch hazel (to prevent premature fizzing), and 1 teaspoon of mica powder until the mixture resembles damp sand.
- Mold and Set: Pack the mixture tightly into silicone sphere molds, pressing both halves together firmly. Let them dry for 24 hours before removing.
- Package: Place three finished bath bombs into the metal tin, cushioned between layers of delicate tissue paper.
Tips and Variations:
- Tip: Add dried calendula petals to the bottom of the mold before packing the mixture so they appear on top of the finished bath bomb.
- Variation: Make shower steamers instead by substituting the sphere molds with silicone muffin cups and adding an extra-strong concentration of eucalyptus oil.
